Farm2Fork—Somerset
Farm2Fork was founded in 2010 by Ollie White, a passionate environmentalist and fourth-generation farmer. Born from a dream to produce and sell meat reared “just as nature intended”, Farm2Fork is an enterprise that benefits both animals and the environment.
Ollie White raises Certified Animal Welfare Approved by A Greener World (AGW) cattle, sheep, meat chickens, turkey and geese at Greenway Farm near Illminster, Somerset. With five separate livestock species currently certified, Farm2Fork is currently the most diverse farm in the UK’s Certified Animal Welfare Approved by AGW programme!
Greenway Farm is the Farm2Fork headquarters and the well-managed pastures provide the perfect balance of nutrients to ensure the animals have access to the healthiest grazing and forage. “Farming for me is about living in nature’s eye and working with my surroundings to provide the best environment for the animals to grow, and consequently the best products for my customers to eat,” says Ollie. “Each animal is reared with pride, allowing them to grow naturally on a diet of grasses, herbs and clovers, and to the best animal welfare standards possible.”
The cattle and sheep at Farm2Fork have continuous access to the freshest and most lush pasture through a method called mob grazing. “We also choose native cattle and sheep breeds, renowned for flavour. We don’t rush production and the meat is traditionally butchered and allowed to mature slowly so the flavours are deep and delicious,” says Ollie. The chickens, geese and turkeys at Farm2Fork are also raised slowly on grassy meadows and fed organic, certified non-GMO grains and an exclusively natural diet of grasses, herbs and clovers.
Farm2Fork Greenway Farm’s Certified Animal Welfare Approved by AGW, Certified Non-GMO by AGW chicken, turkey and goose products and Certified Animal Welfare Approved by AGW, Certified Non-GMO by AGW, Certified Grassfed by AGW beef and lamb are sold direct from the on-farm shop, as well as through the farm2fork.co.uk website, where products are available for local and national delivery.
