Treen Farm – Treen, Cornwall, UK

Paula and Chris Hall raise Certified Animal Welfare Approved by A Greener World (AGW) and Certified Grassfed by AGW dairy cattle and laying hens on pasture at Treen Farm, near Land’s End, Cornwall.

Treen Farm is a 150-acre fifth-generation dairy farm and runs their herd in a low-stress environment and outdoors on pasture. The farming practices at Treen Farm are not only better for the animals, but also for the wider environment. The cows are rotationally managed, grazing one section of pasture before being moved to fresh fields. This allows grass to recover before cows return to graze again; it also keeps the soil properly fertilised and minimises the build-up of internal parasites, thereby avoiding reliance on chemical treatments.

The Hall family raise 25 Pedigree Guernsey organic dairy cattle and followers as well as a small flock of organic laying hens on their property which is nestled at the top of Penberth valley. The dairy herd grazes the land surrounding Treen Cliff, Treryn Dinas and the world famous Logan Rock, all Sites of Special Scientific Interest. This area includes grassland fields, mire habitat and cliff land.

Certified Animal Welfare Approved by AGW, Certified Grassfed by AGW organic cow’s milk and Certified Animal Welfare Approved by AGW organic chicken eggs from Treen Farm are available directly from the farm, from local outlets or can be delivered locally, weekly.
